Recently an interesting development has occurred involving BBC and Elon Musk. Elon Musk, the owner of twitter, has labelled BBC and some other news outlets twitter handle as ‘Government funded’, which has raised questions about the credibility of the news from these news outlets, thus making them suffer losses. BBC did not like this move and complained that they are independent news outlet and don’t make news according to UK’s Government. BBC also stated that if the label is not removed, they would not release any news or articles on twitter. After BBC’s complain, a journalist from BBC went to Elon Musk for an interview. In that interview, Elon Musk questioned the journalist whether they examine the reliability of the news when the UK government wants it to be released; the journalist chuckled and stated the interview was not about the BBC but about Elon Musk. Elon Musk pointed out BBC hypocrisy several times throughout the conversation. However, following the interview, Elon Musk said that the BBC Twitter account tag will be changed. This was a victory for BBC News.
