Japanese prime minister attacked in a blast unharmed after blast : Report confirmed

Today, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was attacked in a blast during a speech in Wakayama, Japan. Prime Minister Kishida was giving his speech for his campaign event in western Japan, when a men threw, what seemed to be, a smoke bomb towards Prime Minister Kishida. The security officials immediately evacuated the prime minister to safety and apprehended the attacker. As per reports, officers rushed PM Kishida to safety as soon as the explosion was heard. The attacker wanted to assassinate the Prime Minister during his speech at Wakayama but failed to do so as he missed the target and the Prime minister was evacuated safely. This violent act was condemned by various world leaders including PM Modi, President Biden, to name a few.

Today’s attack on the Japanese prime minister is not the first, before former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated by navy officer with homemade weapon. In recent years, the Japanese prime minister’s approval rating has fallen to an all-time low. Fumio Kishida came to power after Yoshihide Suga resigned after his one-year term. These events shows that Japanese people are not satisfied with their government policies regarding the country.
