Japanese prime minister attacked in a blast unharmed after blast : Report confirmed

Today, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was attacked in a blast during a speech in Wakayama, Japan. Prime Minister Kishida was giving his speech for his campaign event in western Japan, when a men threw, what seemed to be, a smoke bomb towards Prime Minister Kishida. The security officials immediately evacuated the prime minister to safety and apprehended the attacker. As per reports, officers rushed PM Kishida to safety as soon as the explosion was heard. The attacker wanted to assassinate the Prime Minister during his speech at Wakayama but failed to do so as he missed the target and the Prime minister was evacuated safely. This violent act was condemned by various world leaders including PM Modi, President Biden, to name a few.

Today’s attack on the Japanese prime minister is not the first, before former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated by navy officer with homemade weapon. In recent years, the Japanese prime minister’s approval rating has fallen to an all-time low. Fumio Kishida came to power after Yoshihide Suga resigned after his one-year term. These events shows that Japanese people are not satisfied with their government policies regarding the country. Japan is engaged with various problem like rising suicide cases, decline in population as well as reduction in their salary. Experts state that the country’s population is reduced by half a million in 2022. About 1.5miilion people have started practicing ‘Hikikomori’ i.e. withdrawal from society and seeking confinement and isolation. These people do not talk to anyone and the society including their parents and confine themselves to their room. Even though Japan is one of the most peaceful countries in the world, it is far from having a happy population,

Japanese Prime Minister Assassination : 

Last year in the month of July, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated at Nara, Japan by a naval officer with the help of a gun which was made by 3D printer. In the recent years Japanese Prime Ministers are unable to win the trust of their citizens as their international approval rating keeps decreasing, making people dissatisfied with their policies. In the span of two years, two Prime Ministers rose to power, Yoshihide Suga form 2020-2021 and Fumio Kishida from 2021- present.

Fumio Kishida is a Japanese politician serving as prime minister of Japan and president of Liberal Democratic Party since 2021. He had been in the ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2017 under former PM Shinzo Abe. Today, during a speech for campaign at Wakayama, Prime Minister Kishida was attacked with a smoke bomb. PM Kishida was immediately evacuated to a safe location and the attacker was apprehended. In the recent reports by the government office, it was stated that the Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was safe.

Unrest in Japan

Citizens of Japan are not happy by their government policies and have started to protest against it. Japan is facing various problems such as declining population, declining working-class income, declining living standards and increasing suicide rate. In Japan, an estimated 1.5 million working age people are living in isolation, a phenomenon known as “hikikomori”, owing to which they avoid social contact, further raising worries about their mental health and social well-being. These are some of the biggest problems Japan is facing today, making it difficult for the ruling party to run the country.


Who is the Prime Minister of Japan?

Fumio Kishida has taken the position of prime Minister of Japan in 2021 after Yoshihide Suga resign from his post after his one-year term as Prime minister of Japan. PM Kishida had worked in the Ministry of foreign Affairs for then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who was assassinated in 2022. Again, after less then one year PM Kishida was attacked by a smoke bomb.

Japanese Prime Minister was attacked on 15th April by a smoke bomb during his speech as Wakayama, Japan. As soon as the security officials heard the explosion, PM Kishida was evacuated to a safety place. Later that day, officials informed that Prime Minister Kishida was Safe and unhurt.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida came to power after former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga resigned after one in his office in 2021. Previously, he was in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Abe Administration from 2012-2017.

Fumio Kishida personal Life

Fumio Kishida was born in July 29th in 1957, Tokyo, Japan. As a member of the House of Representatives, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2017 and Acting Minister of Defence in 2017. From 2017 to 2020, he also served as the LDP Policy Research Council Chairman. At present he is the Prime Minister of the Country of Japan. He has three children with his spouse Yuko Kishida.
