The Assam cabinet, in its meeting on February 23, approved the establishment of the Assam Veterinary and Fishery University.
Colleges and faculties
■According to the decision, the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science at Joyhing along with the proposed Dairy Science College, will function as constituent colleges under the newly proposed university.
■Bifurcation of the faculty of Veterinary Science from the Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, and the College of Fisheries Science, Raha from the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
